Our Father – The only hope for peace.

Matthew 6:9-10 Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Favorite Father’s day card I received from my son many years ago.

As Father’s Day approaches,

I realize God the Father’s effect on His children

and our nation’s desperate to follow Him.

Our Father in Heaven – rule of authority.

There is an understanding that we are the children of God. He is our Father and authority. Our world has an order because we live in his established kingdom. There is safety and security when we identify God as our Father and stand under His protection and direction.

Without recognizing God the Father’s identity, we become self-focused and only see our desires and emotions. We become unstable and do not know how to be at peace. The more we acquire, the less we feel complete. Something is missing. We are designed to belong to a Heavenly Father. We are built to follow God.

Hallowed be Your Name

Hallowed means greatly revered and honored. The process of honoring God is to thank Him, Praise Him, and learn more about Him. Listen to Him speak to you through the Bible, sermons, and songs. Our God is a leader, healer, peace-maker, warrior, teacher, and even a God of discipline. God loves me, so He watches, blesses, and disciplines me. I honor His name. I feel secure and loved because of His care. His rod and staff comfort me. He restores my soul.

Rejecting the name of God is to reject hope. You become a vessel of unrest and lawlessness. The Bible says, “The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.” To deny this is to be foolish and wandering through life, always seeking but never satisfied. Always longing but never connected.

Thy Kingdom come – Thy will be done.

Oh Lord, we need your kingdom and leadership in today’s world. Through the lawless efforts of media, social media, and political agendas, we are becoming a nation of rowdy immature children who have never learned to be obedient under a father’s love and authority.

You, Lord, established the universe and determined its rules and limitations. You set the oceans and mountains in place. You created all the plants and creatures and placed them into balance. You feed and care for the wild animals. You send hope and care to those who follow you. God, we need your holiness, leadership, structure, and discipline.

Lord, please send your power to hold back the spirit of lawlessness in our land, our hearts, our families, and our different races. We have become lawless. We have become vessels for the demonic spirit of lawlessness to find homes and begin to fill our minds and mouths with hate, rebellion, and violence.

If…

2 Chron. 7:14  if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Lord, I am asking for your forgiveness for my attitudes and actions of lawlessness. I ask You to clean my heart and mind. Please forgive our nation and heal our land. God said, “If My People…” He could also say, “If my children…”

Matthew 6:13 Father, Deliver us from the Evil One.

Let this Father’s Day be a start to call upon our Heavenly Father to forgive. Let us seek His face. Let us honor His name. Let us ask God to search our hearts, and we repent of what He finds.

Heavenly Father, we seek your healing for our nation and our own Lightnside.
