Psalms 51:10b Realignment step 2 – Steadfast Spirit.

Psalms 51:10b “And renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

Renew a steadfast spirit in me!

Our spirit

Our spirit is the quality of us that connects with others. Our spirit also connects with the supernatural world of God and our enemy’s kingdom. The animal kingdom does not have this spirit. The animals only have natural senses and their specific nature. We, humans, can observe ourselves in this world. We can create, imagine, inspire, reason, and receive revelations. All these qualities and more are a part of our spirit.

Damaged spirit

When we pray, our spirit connects with God’s Spirit. We can pray to the Holy Spirit and receive direction and comfort. Sometimes our spirit can become darkened and damaged. Our spirit and emotions may become unhealthy through pain and suffering or sinful lust.

Have you ever felt overwhelmed and could not get your breath to be calm? It’s a good sign your emotions and spirit are hurting, and you may be seeking help in the wrong places. When we hurt, sometimes our spirit seeks pleasure and escape. While we all need times of rest, our spirits can become connected to the temptations of our supernatural enemies.

Enemies of our spirit – healing from God.

Ephesians 6:12-13 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

The enemy attacks when we are unarmed without God’s presence, and our spirit is damaged. When Jesus was led into the wilderness, He became physically frail after forty days of fasting. It was at this time the enemy came to attack Him. Jesus overcame by the word of God, and in Luke 2:12-13, “Immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness. And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him.” Jesus was in a weakened state both in body and spirit, but the angels of the supernatural world ministered to Jesus and sustained Him.

This is what David is saying and asking God to do for him.

He says, “God, my spirit, emotions are out of whack. I am hurting and weak. I need a touch from the supernatural world of God to renew my spirit and make it steadfast and Godly. God touch my emotions and help me connect to others as I should.”

The NLT says “Renew a loyal spirit within me.”

The KJV says “Renew a right spirit within me.”

The Living Bible says “Filled with clean thoughts and right desires.”

Are you in a place of pain and frustration and want to escape?

Open your Spirit to God. Pray and tell him you need Him to renew your spirit and emotions. Each day pray this prayer of Psalms 51:10-11 and allow time for your Spirit and God’s presence to bring healing to your heart and spirit.

Meditate on Creation and God’s Word

Spend some time looking at God’s creation. Reduce time on social media, tv, or phone and meditate on God’s creation and His word. You will feel restoring your spirit and emotions as God ministers to you.

Blessings to you as your lightnside grows brighter with the fuel of eternity.
